Christopher Smith is the PGA Lead Teaching Professional at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, OR, and now available at the KOR Physical Therapy and Athletic Wellness Center. He has been a student and player of the game for nearly 35 years, and a professional instructor since 1988. Christopher's instruction blends cutting edge technology with experience, knowledge, and insight to produce a learning experience that is both effective and enjoyable. Through the use of unique tools and concepts, he is able to expedite the acquisition and changing of processes inherent to improving one’s golf swing – and overall game. His coaching emphasizes the building of pertinent skills for the individual, with a holistic focus: technique, physical and mental preparation and training, and the importance of on-course play are all a part of Christopher’s approach to better golf performance. Christopher offers a variety of instructional programs and lesson options for players of all levels. His list of clients includes Tour players, professional athletes, top-ranked juniors - and recreational hackers. He has presented numerous teaching, coaching and playing seminars and workshops for the PGA of America, as well as being featured in articles in GolfWeek, Golf Digest, and The Wall Street Journal. In addition, Christopher is the author of I’ve Got 99 Swing Thoughts but ‘Hit the Ball’ Ain’t One (Crown, 2007), and the creator of the Better Golf audio CD. 99 Swing Thoughts speaks to the benefits of learning and playing golf in faster, more instinctive and less conscious ways. And, via specific, scientifically-based phrasing, pacing and music, Better Golf helps golfers think, act and respond in more optimal ways on the course.
