Meet our Team

Donn Dimond, MPT, OCS, SSRC

 Having worked as a Physical Therapist for over 13 years, Donn has built a reputation as the region's go-to professional among athletes for increasing strength and performance, injury reduction, and injury rehabilitation. Donn's expertise in this area led him to co-author "The Bare Minimum: Baseball -- Essential Training for the Baseball Athlete" with Robert Donnatelli, PT, Phd, OCS. This book is available for purchase  (by clicking here Amazon.com) and is a great read for any baseball player looking to maximize their playing potential. Donn  lectures nationwide to other physical therapists  on how to assess and treat patients with shoulder injuries and has lectured nationally on performance and rehabilitation. Donn has also worked with various Chinese Olympic Teams to help decrease their incidence of injury and is a contributing author to Dr. Donatelli’s Sports Specific Rehabilitation,  Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and Physical Therapy of the Shoulder, 5th ed.

The KOR Physical Therapy Donn DimondDonn is a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist (less than 2% of licensed physical therapists in the Portland area possess this), and a strong proponent of hands-on manual therapy and the proper application of strengthening and neuromuscular training to make the body better than its pre-injury condition. He believes the use of these techniques can help an athlete (defined as a person who is active) more effectively reach their true potential.

Originally from Illinois, Donn received his MPT from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin where he also played football. After having practiced physical therapy in Chicago and Colorado, he moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2005 and happily resides in SW Portland with his wife and son, along with their chocolate lab, Bodie. Donn takes full advantage of living in the great Northwest and is an avid hiker, biker, cross sport participant and a passionate sports fan.

Donn is the majority Partner/Owner as well as the Director of Clinical Operations at The KOR PT.

 

Kent Morimatsu, PT, DPT 

As Clinic Director, Kent brings extensive experience treating all manner of orthopedic  and sports-related injuries.  He has and continues to work extensively with many high school, college an  d professional athletes. He utilizes a combination of exercise and manual therapy techniques to help patients get back to pre-injury condition in as safe and efficient manner as possible.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Oregon State University, he went on to obtain a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT), from Pacific University, where he graduated with honors. Kent has gone through the Dona telli Sport Specific Rehabilitation Fellowship and is currently pursuing a manual therapy certification through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy. He has also contributed to several books, including Donn Dimond’s The Bare Minimum: Baseball and Dr. Robert Donatelli’s Orthopedic Physical Therapy text. 

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kent has worked for more than five years as a physical therapist. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, watching sports (especially the Oregon State Beavers) and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Matthew Weissbach, PT CSCS

Matt has been a licensed physical therapist since 2002 and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). His areas of clinical interest include orthopedic aquatic rehabilitation (OAR), injury prevention, pre-habilitation, and post-operative rehabilitation.  Besides treating the following sports injuries, he personally enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, soccer, hockey, track & field, swimming, and surfing.

Matt recently relocated to Oregon after living on the Island of O’ahu for almost nine years. While in Hawaii, he was able to seamlessly blend OAR, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercise to an athletic population with excellent results. He has more than 13 years of experience working with athletes of every caliber including high school, collegiate, and professional athletes.

In addition to a degree in Physical Therapy, Matt received an honors degree in Psychology and Health Studies from Queen’s University in his hometown of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. His studies included the vital role of nutrition, cognitive functioning, preparation for success in athletic competition, and injury rehabilitation. While at Queen’s he was a student athletic trainer for three years.

Matt is a passionate sports fan and remains active enjoying the outdoors with his wife and young daughter.

Nick Mong PT, DPT, ATC

Nick Mong The KOR PTNick is a Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer who specializes in orthopedic and sports injuries. He strongly believes that treating symptoms is not enough; long-term improvement in pain and function comes from careful analysis of biomechanics and movements to fix the source of the problem.

Nick's skill in working with athletes was honed as a student at Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Exercise and Sport Science and a Certification in Athletic Training (ATC), while clocking in over 1,000 hours of directed clinical work with several OSU athletic teams. Nick went on to complete his education with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Arcadia University in Pennsylvania, where he also worked as a part-time athletic trainer.

While working with The KOR, Nick has also provided athletic training services for the Portland Rain, part of the Women's Premier Soccer League. In his free time, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, biking, watching all sports and playing poker.

Chloe Murdock PT, DPT, CSCS

 Chloe specializes in working with orthopedic and sports-related injuries, particularly among runners and cyclists. As a Physical Therapist, she incorporates her training as a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with extensive experience in gait analysis and running mechanics to effectively diagnose and treat athletes, returning them to sport stronger and healthier. Chloe has worked with athletes in sports-specific orthopedic clinics in Boulder, San Francisco and most recently in Boston, before coming to Portland, OR.

Chloe graduated with honors in Kinesiology at The Pennsylvania State University where she competed for the Varsity Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams. While at Penn State she was the primary author of research investigating the biomechanical properties of collegiate distance runners and cyclists, which was presented at the International Society of Biomechanics Congress. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University.

Outside of work, Chloe is busy pursuing her passion for rock climbing, cycling and running, as well as exploring her new Northwest home.

Melissa Cox PT, DPT 

 Melissa’s clinical areas of focus include manual physical therapy, sports performance and working with endurance athletes. She believes in using manual treatment approaches paired with individualized exercises to help patients reach their goals and maintain an active lifestyle.

After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors of Science in Psychobiology, Melissa continued on to Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in August 2010. She looks forward to expanding her knowledge base through advanced training in manual therapy and sports rehabilitation.

After having lived in quite a few regions in the US, Melissa is looking forward to exploring Oregon and the rest of the Pacific Northwest. She runs for the Red Lizard club team and enjoys road racing of all distances; however is working on becoming more competitive in the marathon. Her most recent endeavor is learning how to golf.

Ellie Meyrowitz PT, DPT

Ellie graduate with her doctorate in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University.  Since, Ellie has continued her education by being trained in three different disciplines of manual therapy: osteopathic manual manipulation, Ola Grimbsy Institute and North American Orthopedic Manual Therapy.  Her philosophy with treating patients is a balance of manual therapy to address dysfunctions and correcting muscular imbalances with exercising to get people moving and back to their desired lifestyle.  Her career history is working with all types of atheletes, however her passion is working with triathles, as Ellie is a triathlete herself. By trade she is a swimmer, and swam for Indiana University at a national level.  Ellie enjoys living in Portland with her husband experiencing the lifestyle of the surrounding mountains that Oregon has to offer.


Lisa Wallis, LMT

Lisa Wallis, LMT, Massage Therapist at The KOR

Lisa Wallis is a nationally and state certified licensed massage therapist who provides results-oriented massage and bodywork to help her client’s attain improved mobility, relaxation and overall health. Using a variety of massage modalities and advanced techniques, Lisa works closely with her clients to reach their individual rehabilitative and health goals.

Lisa graduated from the East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon in 2005, and has been bringing good health and pain relief to the region ever since. Her extensive training and seemingly intuitive ability to sense the client’s needs have earned Lisa a loyal following and a reputation as one of the more gifted massage therapists in the area.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys cross fit, golf and hiking when it’s not raining. A born and bred Sooner, she roots for the home team at any opportunity!

Heidi Hope, LMT

Heidi Hope has been a state certified clinical massage therapist since 2004. She has developed  a busy practice providing pain relief, improved mobility, and stress relief to many people.  Having taken various continued education classes over the years, including structural relief therapy and advanced deep tissue classes, Heidi has been helping her clients to improve their postural dysfuctions as well as maintain or increase mobility.
Heidi graduated from Ashmead College with honors in 2004  and has been helping her clients  ever since. Heidi grew up in Forest Grove, OR and has maintained a busy practice there since she graduated. She is excited to join a clinic of health care professionals who share the same goals that she has for helping people  and to have the opportunity  to expand and grow her practice in a new area.
 

Heidi loves living in Oregon and enjoys many outdoor activites including camping,  gardening, and spending time with her husband and their 4 dogs.
